Sapphire as a material also catches way more glare than glass which affects visibility at different angles. Sure, the backlight is much improved on the Pro series, but it's flat out wrong that the screen is more readable than the Fenix 6 series. Hell, it's even way less readable than the Forerunner 955.

I went with the pro and a $5 screen protector for peace of mind. I've dinged up the casing but the glass is untouched. I've seen a couple posts where Sapphire got scratched so I figured a protector would be just as good. And I'm happy with my choice. I liked the darker color of the pro casing more than the gray-ish one on the Sapphire.

They are very different watches and both have great features and major limitations. For fitness, the Fenix 6X Pro (and Garmin in general) does do a much better job with fitness, obviously. Long battery life (5+ days even when I'm messing with it all the time, could get 10-15 days easily).
